Each year Longview Regional takes pride in serving Greater Longview United Way Campaign as a pacesetter.

“Longview Regional is pleased to continue to serve as a Pacesetter for the Greater Longview United Way Campaign again this year. Our hospital encourages and educates our employees on how they are able to individually give back if they choose, to Greater Longview United Way. Each year, hospital employees look forward to participating in the fun and entertaining fundraising events Longview Regional hosts,” said Jim Kendrick, Longview Regional Medical Center CEO.

Last year for the 2012 Greater Longview United Way Campaign, Longview Regional held a “kiss-the-goat” contest as their fundraiser, encouraging employees to give funds to a designated physician to see who would have to “kiss-the-goat.” Longview Regional’s cardiologist, Jonathan Greifenkamp, M.D. won last year and kept the promise of “kissing the goat” at LRMC’s “official” pacesetter kickoff held in the Longview Regional cafeteria.

Michael Clark said of Greifenkamp, “I think it is marvelous. It shows his goodwill towards United Way. Besides, he is one of the few that can do this – kiss a goat for United Way.

Greifenkamp took it well. “This is for a good cause,” he said.
